WAGS are a group of people from Whitchurch and Ganarew parish who all have interests in our local history. We live on the Doward Hills, Great Doward and Little Doward, in the villages in the valley, Symonds Yat West, Whitchurch, Ganarew, although being a resident is not an essential requirement to join our group.
The oldest inhabitants were here shortly after the ice age living in caves. A couple of people were even living in a cave on Great Doward until mid last century. Some of their descendants are possibly still living in the parish.
